Kids & Horses Scholarship Fund
The Kids & Horses Scholarship Fund provides equine-assisted therapy to local area children, aged three years old to adult, who are unable to afford therapeutic riding lessons at the Kids & Horses Therapeutic Riding Center. Where a parent or guardian of the child states the cost of the lessons would create a financial burden, the child is taken into the program as a scholarship recipient. As a condition of the child receiving a scholarship, the parent or guardian must volunteer at Kids & Horses over the scholarship year, giving back to the program. Kids & Horses has made a commitment to ensure that no child or adult is turned away from the program because of financial need. Kids & Horses’ scholarship programs allow for students in need to receive assistance. Fifty-percent of students at Kids & Horses are on scholarship. Although therapeutic riding programs are expensive to run Sam Waldman the founder of Kids & Horses wanted all students who could benefit from the program to be able to have the opportunity to experience equine therapy regardless of financial ability. Sponsor a needy child in our program for a year ($5,500) or a semester ($1,100). Scholarships not only aid the individual child that is sponsored but they also help to expand our programs to the dozens of children waiting to be admitted to the Kids & Horses program.
